White is one of three Royals to have his uniform number (20) retired and there is a statue of him at Kauffman Stadium. He was inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame in 1995.

An eight-time Gold Glove winner at second base, White spent his entire playing career with the Royals and played on both of their World Series teams. He grew up in Kansas City and he and wife Teresa live in Lee's Summit, Mo.
